About Me 

Work Injury Solutions is a one-stop-shop for employers needing support with workers' compensation issues. 

We also offer comprehensive workplace investigations to employers dealing with concerns or allegations of bullying, harassment or discrimination. 

I established Work Injury Solutions in August 2012 to service Far North Queensland and have since extended the service to employers across the State. I offer an integrated service that includes; 

·   workplace investigations 

·   claim investigation  

·   claim management 

·   rehabilitation & return to work 

·   premium management and 

·   safety systems and audits. 

I have sixteen years experience as a human resources practitioner and more than thirty years experience in the investigation and management of all claim types with a special interest in psychological / psychiatric injury claims.

I am a licensed investigator, accredited Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator and Certified Personal Injury Professional.

My experience over the past 30 years is a complementary mix of business management, workers' compensations, rehabilitation and return to work and people management.

Experience

I am a former Claims Manager and Relationship Manager with WorkCover Queensland and Human Resources/Risk Management Consultant with Telstra.

Between December 2011 and August 2012, I was seconded to WHSQ as a Senior Advisor to the Injury Prevention & Management Program (IPaM).

IPaM is a joint initiative of WorkCover Queensland and Workplace Health & Safety Queensland. The program works collaboratively with WorkCover Queensland identified employers who have recurring high claims costs that adversely impact the financial performance of the compensation scheme. IPaM typically reviews health & safety and injury management systems and develops business plans to assist employers to improve their performance. The preliminary results for the program indicate better than average scheme performance for IPaM participating employers.

Between August 1995 and December 2011 I held many senior roles with WorkCover Queensland in Townsville and Cairns.

My passion has was always been working with employers to ensure that they felt well supported while maintaining a sense of balance between their business and financial interests and entitlements to their workers.

Prior to WorkCover I worked for sixteen years with Telstra in Townsville.

I worked exclusively in Human Resources Management within the Townsville District office, attaining the position of Personnel Manager. My responsibilities included all aspects of human resources management; payroll and personnel services, performance appraisal, recruitment and selection, establishment and organisation development, Privacy and Right to Information, Occupational Health and Safety, workers' compensation, rehabilitation, management of unplanned absences and personal injury/common law claims.

I was a senior human resources practitioner in regional Queensland and senior compensation delegate in Queensland.

In the 18 months to July 1992 I was engaged on a number of strategic State and National projects involving the automation and integration of Human Resource Management and Cost Accounting systems.


In the three years to August 1995 I performed a HR consultancy role, working principally in Country Division's Risk Management team whilst assuming a regional responsibility for more complex employment and employee discipline matters.

My final assignment was as 2IC of a national project team reviewing the liability associated with long term compensation claims, statutory reviews and Administrative Appeal Tribunal hearings.
